4 a.m.

3.15.2011

I woke up to Nathan smacking his lips, so I thought I'd go see if I could help make him more comfortable.
I sat up way too fast and fell backward off my bed. So I spent about 10 minutes laying on the floor crying at myself. Which turned into talking to myself. And telling myself jokes. And then I proceeded to laugh at myself. Because I actually thought I was funny.

By the time I walked into his room, Nathan was asleep again.

4 a.m. does terrible things to me.

at 7:00, I woke up so tired that I couldn't even remember my own name if you asked. I also thought my alarm clock was an atomic bomb, and it efforts to disable it and save all mankind, I hucked that thing across my room, where it came in crashing contact with my wall.

My name is Kalynn Petersen and I [do not] approve this message.

bring it on.

Guess what this week entails?
Monday- a trip to Lins for some groceries, and Spanish Oral studying.
Tuesday- Spanish oral at 11:05, playing with my sister and the niece and nephew until 2:30, baptisms at the St. George temple with this lovely girl and Ashley Shay Remund, and then lunch at Cafe Rio. mm. mm. mm!! Glee at 7:00 at Kortney and Paige's place. (wanna know a secret? The Boyfriend admitted to falling in like with Glee! yessss.)
Wednesday- classes. blah. but no Spanish! and probably some homework.
Thursday- boarding? maybe. I have to think about it. I'm so sick of the snow, that I may or may not be done for the season.
Friday- heading home! For ten days!! I love me some Spring Break.
What do you all have planned for the week?
--Kalynn Eve.
p.s. remember how I fell asleep on the grass in the sunshine on Saturday? two days ago? today= snow storm. Betcha can't guess who slipped and fell on their butt on their way to class.
ask me how much I like the snow.
I dare you.
p.ps. Have you seen Cinderella Man? I daresay it is one of the most inspiring flicks ever. You'd be stupid not to check it out.

I just had an epiphany. Gleek, much?

Throughout the day, I've had a lot of negative feelings about today.
-when it was time to get up for my workout, I had a hard time finding the motivation.
-while on my run, it seemed to take twice as long.
-for breakfast, I had to use the very end of the loaf of bread for my toast.
-I tripped over some kid's leg at the very front of the classroom filled with 108 students.
-My math teacher decided it would be cool to have a freshman sub for her and teach us today's lesson...do you assume that went well?
-The boyfriend made me try a corn nut. yuck.
-I tried painting my nails FOUR times today, but each time I kept messing up.
-There was absolutely nothing edible to eat at the cafeteria for dinner tonight.
-Spanish homework takes forrrrevvvver. forever. forever.

And..then I realized that I'm not usually this pessimistic about my days, even when they go wrong. I figured that today must have been bad because of something that happened to me yesterday. And then I figured out what that something was.

Glee did not play yesterday. :(
No Sam for Kalynn.

hahaha. :) Who are my fellow gleeks?
By the way, today hasn't been too bad. I'm just stoked for tomorrow.

Best wishes for all of your tomorrows!

Just A Disclaimer:

To the man who decides to marry me:

After the day we say "I do" to each other, it is very likely that your BAD luck is about to increase exponentially. It's not exactly my fault. Somehow, the worst-of-luck things always, always happen to me.

i.e. TODAY.

I was walking through the middle of campus
and I decided to send a "good morning!"
text to Matthew.
I push the little green send button,
and then accidentally drop my phone.
So, naturally, I crouched down to pick it up.
Before I stand up again, I look up
just in time to see a biker run right into me.
No lie.
The front tire actually kept spinning while it was on my face.
Yes, it did hurt.
Yes, there were skid marks on my face.
Wanna know the best part?
He just gets back on his bike and yells,
"Watch where you're going!"
Like I was the one out of place?!
no.
I was the pedestrian.

That's just my luck.
so good luck.
you'll need it.

Love always,
your Kalynn.

Considerably early this morning, some senile old guy at the Albertson's
in Salt Lake City decided that giving me bogus directions to the freeway
was on his to-do list for today.
Driving around, utterly lost, in the dark on slippery,
snowy roads at 6:30 in the morning?
Not cool.

I want to share some things with you that I have learned in my life that may subsequently help you out with yours.

One: Just because a sliding glass door looks like it's open, does not necessarily mean that it is.
Windex. works. wonders. Approach with caution
.

-How I learned this: Once upon a time, my good friend Austin Woodchip(field) was having a pre-mish going away party at his house. I'd been waiting all night long for a friend to get there. Simply put, I heard that said friend had arrived and excitedly ran to greet said friend at the door when BANNNNNGGGG!!<-------forehead-on-glass-onomatopoeia. I can really sympathize with those birds that run into my window everyday down at SUU.

Two: Never let an eight-year old cook her own dinner.
I don't care if eight is the "age of accountability" or not.
I wasn't even tall enough to see over the stove. That tells you something.

-How I learned this: A box of mac & cheese is a lot for a girl, so I saved it for the next day. When I took it out of the fridge, it was too cold to eat so I simply put some tinfoil over the container and warmed it up via microwave. Pretty much it was the 4th of July in the kitchen.

Three: When baking, remember that there is a difference between baking POWDER and baking SODA.
If you do happen to mix the two up, please take notice before giving away the finished product.

-How I learned this: pretty self explanatory. Someone did something nice for me, I wanted to give thanks....
they never did anything nice for me again.

Four: When getting into water, do so slowly.

-How I learned this: After snowboarding, I turned on the shower so it could start warming up and then went back to my room to get some clean clothes. Then I just stepped right in without testing it first. Yeah. Guess I didn't turn it on very warm. Pretty sure it was only three degrees.

Five: Common-sense, but I'll reiterate. do NOT wear Old Navy flip-flops on a rainy day, especially when walking on cement.

-How I learned this: As much as I hate to recall this traumatizing story, I shall share for your guys' benefit. On a date. Cute boy. New jacket. Middle of winter. rain. new car. hot chocolate. Boy: opens car door. Kalynn: hydroplanes on Old Navy ruber-ness; spills over new jacket; spills over boy's new car. Hot. Burns. Hot. Ouch.

I hope that helps.
Love,
Kalynn Eve.
