And this I enter my last year of teenage-hood.

10.28.2010

October 22, 1991.

The day I was born.
Can I just tell you that my 19th birthday was the greatest birthday ever?
it was.
Matt and I drove home on Thursday, so that I wouldn't have to drive for three hours on my own birthday. And when I got home Melissa, Lizzy, Sam, and my dear mother were all there making carameled apples! mmm! And then my generous mother wanted to take us to dinner! It wasn't even my birthday yet, but I got to choose!
Anyone who knows me knows what I chose.
Yep.

CAFE RIO.

Heaven. on. Earth.
Anyway. on to the actual birthday stuff!!

Friday. Happy birthday to me!! Matthew came and picked me up and took me to breakfast with a couple of our friends, MattFinn, Braden, and Jake.
We went to Kneaders because they have the best french toast on all the planet and it's only $5 bucks for all you can eat! So that was good. And then we all went to play pool at a bowling alley. Matt and I kicked Braden's and Jake's butt. Can I just tell you that we are pretty dang dece at pool?We are.
And then Matt hung out with me ALL day long. haha. He's so great.
and then I had a quick family party.
I LOVE my family. They're so great.
and that night my friends from Cedar came down!
Abby, Kelsey, Emily, and Scott.
we ate pizza and MUD PIE. and chatted until it was late. but not too late, because the next day we had plans to go to.....
LAGOON!!
but did you know it was pouring rain all day?
but we didn't care THAT much.

We still spent our entire day there and it was so much fun still!
Lines were short.
and Matt even took me on the
SKYCOASTER.

greatest.thing.ever.

When we were so cold that we just couldn't handle it any longer, we went to Emilies and showered and got in sweats and ate the delicious grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup her dear kind mother made for us.
Then we turned on "How to Train Your Dragon" which is SO adorable.

And then after a little guitar hero and super mario bros, we hit the sack.

I just...am so happy. with life. friends. family. everything. :)

Love, your no longer 18 years old friend,
KALYNN.

I'm a true T-bird! plus a quick story that you don't wanna miss!

10.16.2010

Quick Story.

To become a true T-bird, one must kiss a person of the opposite gender, or not, I suppose, at exactly midnight at this one statue we have on campus. ha. It's so fun. You get there like ten minutes early, just to be safe, and they're handing out chapstick, gum, mints...all that cool stuff. And the chapstick even says "I'm a true T-bird" on it! It was tight.

anyway.

I'M A TRUE T-BIRD!! It's funny just kissing in a very large group of people who are also kissing. Can you say make out party? I can. make out party.

so then at 12:05, we run across the street to where we have some water balloons stashed...(Matt's idea..) and then...we just start throwing them at everyone making out! haha. only. we didn't really pay attention to the big light that was over our wonderful hiding spot...and...everyone saw who we were and what we were doing. They didn't appreciate getting all wet. So we had to book it! We run to the other end of the field and...cool...fence with barbed wire. but we have no choice! We have to climb! So i throw my slippers over to the other side, and...do my best to climb bare foot. UNSUCCESSFUL. First, I completely grabbed the wire with my hand, yes there are holes in my hand now, and then I sat on the wire, yes, there are holes in my pants now, and then I accidentally ran both feet over the wire, yes there are horrid scratches on my feet now. And I'm all bleeding everywhere...but it's okay. It was SO much fun. Like. way fun. when I got home, Matthew, Emily, and Kayla help to make sure I don't have to get my feet and hands cut off by spraying my battle wounds with TONS of hydrogen peroxide. Never used the stuff? I don't recommend it. Sure, now my wounds are clean but OWWW. I wanted to cry! That stuff burns!

Anyway. I'm gonna go home now. :)

xoxo,
Kay.

Fancy Shmancy Pumpkin Pie.

10.10.2010

My weekend,
which pretty much began with Thursday after classes ended,
was absolutly deluctable.

Here's the recap:

Thursday night presented a
NIGHT OUTWITH THE GIRLS!!

It had been a long time since I'd had one of these.
It was fan-freaking-tastic.

We drove to the ST-G and hit up Cafe Rio, and then spent a good amount of time shopping at the outlets. Then we headed over to Scott and Josh's and got yummy ice cream cones at Larsen's FROSTOP! mmmm. I love that place.

The drive home was funny...cause Emily ordered three very sugary desserts at Frostop...and...sugar just does something to her.

Friday I got to drive home with my lovely sister Julie, her husband and two children, and Matthew. We then got dressed up all fancy and went to SLC for Papa's Gala.

He is the CEO of a microcredit company that gives small loans to people in third world countries so that they can make their small businesses better and become more self sufficient. Their Motto: a hand UP, not a hand OUT.
Kind of like that moral that goes something like: give someone fish and you feed them a meal, teach them to fish and you feed them for a lifetime.

you know?

my dad is super classy and good at asking people to donate to this beautiful cause.

I got to have Matthew as my date, and boy did he look handsome.

Well...he always does. It's so distracting.

Anyway.
David Archuletta was there and he sang some songs and also his mother did too. Because she grew up in Honduras, which is one of the countries my dad's business helps.
He has a tragically wonderful voice. and even though I didn't know any of his songs..I don't think he sang any of his most popular ones anyway.
But he does sound lovely.

Saturday was fantastic because I got to see my dearest, most best friend in the ENTIRE world,
BRIELLE PORTER.
she is my soul-mate-friend. As in..if any two people in the world were meant to be friends, it would be us. We're the same person..in a very good way. We never argue, dispute, or disagree. And we don't live in a friendship fantasy world either. We're 100% honest with each other. I know she'd never talk about me behind my back, because if she had a problem with me, she'd say it to my face and we'd talk over it. Cause we're mature like that. :) But seriously...I don't even say "I hope I'll be friends with Brielle my whole life..." Because she's basically my sister. I don't have to worry about it. I KNOW she'll be there my entire life. She's just that kind of friend for me.

it had been MONTHS since I had seen her.
months, I'm telling you.
Because she spent her whole summer working in Texas, and now goes to school at BYU and I'm here at SUU...and...it's just difficult. But I gathered her and our other dear friend Rachel Wade and we all went to lunch together at Pizza Factory.

It's amazing how normal it feels between good friends, even when it seems like it's been an eternity.

ah. I love Bri and Rachel.

And now here I am, back at my cosy little dorm room at SUU.

which I do love as well.

ah life..you are so beautiful to me.

Love,
Kay.

Most excited I've been since...ever.

10.02.2010

Cause I'm HOME.
I got to see Nathan. (mi hermano.)

and my papa.

I'm so happy to be home!!!
