Guess what this week entails?
Monday- a trip to Lins for some groceries, and Spanish Oral studying.
Tuesday- Spanish oral at 11:05, playing with my sister and the niece and nephew until 2:30, baptisms at the St. George temple with this lovely girl and Ashley Shay Remund, and then lunch at Cafe Rio. mm. mm. mm!! Glee at 7:00 at Kortney and Paige's place. (wanna know a secret? The Boyfriend admitted to falling in like with Glee! yessss.)
Wednesday- classes. blah. but no Spanish! and probably some homework.
Thursday- boarding? maybe. I have to think about it. I'm so sick of the snow, that I may or may not be done for the season.
Friday- heading home! For ten days!! I love me some Spring Break.
What do you all have planned for the week?
--Kalynn Eve.
p.s. remember how I fell asleep on the grass in the sunshine on Saturday? two days ago? today= snow storm. Betcha can't guess who slipped and fell on their butt on their way to class.
ask me how much I like the snow.
I dare you.
p.ps. Have you seen Cinderella Man? I daresay it is one of the most inspiring flicks ever. You'd be stupid not to check it out.

Little Gems.

I can't get over the potential I see in the people I am surrounded by.
I hope they can see it in themselves..

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Right now, Matthew is making me "good-luck pancakes"
because I have a history test first thing in the morning.

:]

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So today we're snowboarding, right?
And you know how sometimes the person who happens to be working at the lift
will rake the unloading area before people get off?
Well, the lady working at it today had no common sense.
She kept raking the snow right where I was supposed to get off.
Right as I set my board on the ground, she sticks her rake underneath my board!
Needless to say, I took a fall and it was not a good one.
Smash head on lift and then on rock-hard ice? check.
Whiplash? check.
Everlasting headache? check.
blehhh...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Adam comes home in 5 days!!preeeetty stoked, folks.

The world is a happy place if you so choose to allow it to be.

Kalynn's Happy List:

1: Every day I get the chance to be better than I was yesterday. Thank-fetching-goodness.
2: Shared joy is double joy, yet shared sorrow is half sorrow. Isn't that a great concept?
3: I am a woman. If I'm ever on a ship and it sinks, I get to get off first. I can hug my best friends without anyone thinking I'm gay. If I don't shave for a couple days, no one knows. Womanhood is the life.
4: My brother comes home in 11 days. After 2 full years of away time, I'm ready to finally meet my new-and-improved best friend.
5: Both Emily and I are getting good at Call of Duty. Right now, Emily and I are taking turns playing with Matthew. I get to spend more time with the boyfriend doing something he loves, AND I get to chill with Em. sa-weeeet. Nuketown? Favorite map.
6: Having the freedom to choose my preferred pizza place. Emily got her pizza from Pizza Hut. Matthew chose Papa Murphy's. I chose Little Caesars. num num num.
7: The Office. I know I've talked about it in basically every post since it became a part of my everyday, but..I just can't get enough of it. Especially when coupled with popcorn.
8: The Hawaiian style version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." It puts a smile on my face that lasts for days.
9: Picnicking. Not that I have been on a picnic as of any recent time...but looking forward to being able to do so makes me giddy.
10: Having nieces and nephews. AND being able to see them. Sammy says "Kee..." which, I am 100% sure means Kalynn.
11: Getting better at yoga. On the P90X DVD, Tony actually makes us to Ohms...haha. Absolutely fantastic, I'm tellin' ya.
12: Snowboarding clothes. Even though this snowboarding season sucks right now, there's just something about baggy, insulated clothing that makes my heart race.
13: Nutter Butters during film class. There's nothing like watching Juno whilst eating Nutter Butters with the boyfriend. Oh, except for maybe taking the nutter butter apart, and taking an Oreo apart and putting one of each together..

Shredicles of Gnarnia.

1.17.2011

I just spent the day boarding with some of the coolest kids you ever did meet.
And guess what?
Said boarding did NOT, I repeat, NOT go down on the bunny hill.
Not even on the advanced bunny hill.
Said boarding went down at Giant Steps.
That's right.
and my first day on Giant Steps mountain really improved my abilities.
I learned a lot, but mostly had a great time on the mountain with dear friends.Pictured above is me and my boy.
a.k.a (by our shredding budz) PB&J and pink bottom.

Pinky here can shred the gnar. hard.
Throwin 720's post 50-50 board slide on a kink rail.
Ohkay.. not really.
But he'll get there by the end of the season.
If kink rails exist at Brian Head...??

Next we've got Turtle Beach//Green Bean and Red Board.
He reeeally needs a new name.

Little speed demons they are.
However, they're nice enough to keep it a tad slow for me.
:) :)

Hey, Turtle Bean.
You totally got that 180.
don't sweat it.

Got it?

And here's some Turtle Bean and PB&J.
I love me some Turtle. :)

And quickly, I'd just like to add that snow conditions were prime.
And frolic-ing on a mountain with people who don't even care what you look like?
Best. thing. ever.

Thanks for the day, team!
Love, Kalynn Eve.

10 things I've learned this weekend.

1.15.2011

1: Books are the gateway to my serenity.
2: Organized is better than unorganized.
3: It's hard to do everyday things with fake nails on.
4: Sometimes the issue, is not really the issue.
5: Yoga benefits me in more ways than I can explain.
6: My boyfriend is the most generous and selfless person I know.
7: Riding toe-side is ridiculously hard to get down after only three experiences with snowboarding.
And I have the bruised knees to prove it.

8: Cafe Rio is the greatest restaurant ever invented.
9: I love amazing bath sanctuaries.
10: I am lucky. Immeasurably lucky.

What did you learn this weekend?

Another day.

12.21.2010

Look at them.
Please, revel in their beauty.
I have.
Both are prime for one reason. (reason beyond their beauty.)
that reason?: They will cost (including bindings and boots) the exact same amount as it would to rent a board, bindings, and boots for one season.
That means, I can get one of them!
For KEEPS.

Tell me. Which do you like better?
I savor in the opinion of others.
ha. Just kidding.
It's just fun to get others' opinions before making an important decision.
Such as which board I will use for probably a long long time.
so tell me.

I feel like there aren't enough hours in a day.
You know what I need?

I need to move to Alaska; it's day time all the time.
I need more hours in a day; all I do is clean and tend people. I need time for my friendies.
I need to tell those whom I love how much I appreciate them; that should never go unsaid.
I need sleep; boyfriend staying up all night playing COD= lots of random texts waking Kalynn up every half hour until 6:00 in the morning.
I need a brain transplant; mine is cooped up with bogus information-and i think it broke...or perhaps I am getting dumber...
I need a more sufficient income; snowboarding is an expensive hobby. School is an expensive hobby as well.
I need to breathe. And remember how wonderful life is, as I make do with what i have. For what I have is all I really need.

--Kalynn Eve.

Dear Fat-man-in-a-{big}-red-coat,

12.17.2010

Santa Claus- commonly mistaken for "clause", however, not to be confused with the constitutional components such as the Due Process Clause. (I would be learning more about that in a class I WAS signed up for to take next semester that WOULD have helped me towards my professional aspirations, however...I opted out for my snowboarding class instead. There is no turning down new love.) See. I know your name. Therefore, I have a few concerns I'd like to bring to your attention with the utmost urgency:

1} channel 105.1 on the radio is (usually) pretty good about playing a great festive mix. HOWEVER, as of late they seem to feel inclined to use Michael Buble's "home" and chipmunk-teeth'd Miley Cyrus' "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" in its assortment. While I love me some Mr. Buble, I'd prefer his CHRISTMAS music around this time of year. And Miley Cyrus, Christmas or not, gets the automatic thumbs-down-skip-to-the-next-song. Please assure this does not happen again.

2} You are doing a wonderful job in the snow department; there hasn't been too much this year! However, with my new ambitions of becoming a pro snowboarder, could you possibly make it so that there is a lot of snow in the mountains of Brian Head, but not a lot in the land of Cedar City? don't want to drive in it...but I do want to learn to shred it at B-head.

3} Speaking of shredding it on the snow, I need some snow pants. Just plain black ones is all I ask for. I have no money because all of that is being spent on my pass and school. mostly on my pass though, thanks to my lovely parents. :) ( I promise the plan will work mom!:) )

4} I would like to request the banning of flashing Christmas tree lights. Especially when coupled with a majority of non-flashing strands on the SAME tree. I don't know whoever decided it was cool to have only the bottom-right section of their tree flashing, but...they were wrong. It simply looks like you have annoying shortage in your wires. A shortage that leads me to epileptic tendencies. Let's keep it classy, folks.

5} Last night I made gingerbread houses with my family. (that includes Matthew.) and guess what I discovered? I hate gingerbread. I think it tastes awful. But I DO love the smell. Can you make it taste like the candles?

Love,

Kalynn in Pleasant Grove.
