DISNEYLAND WITH RACHEL

6.12.2017

^^I won this churro from Rachel by beating her at the Buzz AstroBlasters Ride. Impressed? You should be. haha. ;)

^^ Rachel's one condition in going to Disneyland together was that we wear matching Mickey shirts.

Rachel and I had been talking about going to Disneyland together for what seems like forever. The year started off pretty stressful (to put it nicely, haha) for both of us, so last month we decided to finally make the trip! Thanks to Rachel having a bunch of SkyMiles, the trip was super cheap for both of us. (Can you believe that kind of friendship?!) We flew down Friday night after work, and then spent Saturday and Sunday riding as many rides as could, eating as many churros we could get our hands on, and fitting in as much fun as possible before our flight home Sunday night.

Needless to say, we were exhausted by the time we got home at 3:00 a.m. on Monday morning. (Shoutout to the best boyfriend ever for picking us up from the airport at 1:50 in the morning!)

I love my Ray girl, and I am so grateful for her friendship! Can't wait until our next trip.

According to Twitter I Thought It

3.22.2016

I love Twitter. I really do! It's actually probably my favorite social media platform. People are just so dang funny on there! And it's just a fun place to get out some random thoughts you have during the day. I go through phases. Sometimes I won't tweet for weeks. Others, I'll only retweet things others have tweeted. And then sometimes, like lately, I tweet a few times per day. So I'll probably do posts with this theme pretty regularly.

According to Twitter I thought it:

--03/15/16: Disneyland Disneyland Disneyland
Disneyland Disneyland Disneyland
Disneyland Disneyland Disneyland

I can't stop thinking about Disneyland. I really can't. I know I've brought up my obsession about a million times on this blog, but every time I'm planning a trip, my condition gets worse and worse. Sometime in May, my sisters, my mom, and I are taking a weekend trip to Disneyland! I can't wait. I daydream about it pretty much nonstop.

--03/18/16: MY BRACKET IS LEADING
OUT OF EVERYONE AT WORK!!!

That was short lived. Ha! For a good 5 days, my bracket was about 95%. It's now sitting somewhere around 40%.

--03/21/16: Your inability to turn off your stinkin'
turn signal is leading me to  epileptic tendencies.

--03/22/16: I got 99 problems and slow drivers
are all of them. THE. SPEED. LIMIT. IS. 70.

I actually turn to Twitter with road-rage quite frequently. Haha, I swear I'm the most impatient person. Most of my biggest pet peeves deal with traffic/other drivers/Provo roads. It's pretty bad actually! I need to not let it get me so frustrated.

--03/21/16: Today my mom told me her hair dryer died,
so she was buying a new one. I said, "I need to do that too."
I came home to a new hair dryer. (crying emojis. heart emoji.)

This isn't a one time occurrence, you guys. My mom is the most thoughtful and loving human out there. She's constantly doing little things for me, just because she loves to and loves to show others that she was thinking about and cares about them. AND the hair dryer she bought me is yellow--my favorite color, which she did on purpose. Ah! Mama, I love you.

--03/22/16: Being at a caucus always makes me
feel like I'm at a Stars Hallow town meeting.

Tonight was the caucus, so Nathan and I went with my parents to do our voting. I say that the reason we're making those faces in the photo above, is because we're really not happy with any of the candidates that are funning. I'm nervous to see how this election turns out. (And I think the rest of America is too...) It cracks me up, though, to gather with everyone from our little town and hear everyone's thoughts. If you haven't seen Gilmore Girls, I highly suggest it! You'll fall in love with all the characters. The town meetings are hilarious. I'm currently re-watching it to prepare for the additional season Netflix is coming out with soon. #TeamLogan

The one with the update.

10.29.2011

If an "update" is what you want to call this.
Basically, here's what you've missed/what I've neglected to blog about as of yet.

1: Papa had his gala for Mentors International. I wish you could all hear my dad ask billionaires for money. He is the most eloquent, classy guy that I know. The benefit show was amazing, complete with Elder Oaks daughter on the violin and some other fantasticly talented woman whose name I can't recall.
Matthew won this plant, and he was one proud father of it.

2: I hung out with all of my roommates for the first time! All four of us are crazy busy and I'm never ever at our apartment and this was the first time we all got to hang out together. We went to dinner at the cutest restaurant in the Riverwoods and we saw that actor from The Best Two Years! I really, really like my roommates. I know that in some other life, if I wasn't juggling school, work, AND a boyfriend, that we could have become really great friends.

3: Matthew and I went to Hee Haws. haha. I was craving a hayride, and Matthew enjoys all things haunted, so we went down the street for a haunted hayride at Hee Haws. It was the scariest one that I have ever been to, and we really enjoyed it.

4: We also carved pumpkins! We took Nathan down with us to Maceys to pick out the best pumpkins in the bunch, and carved away. It was the first time I've ever carved something other than two triangles and a jagged mouth into a pumpkin, and I was pretty proud!

5: and last, but definitely not least, we all flew up to Disneyland for my birthday! This girl has now entered a whole new decade of life. Disneyland was so much fun. I got to go on all of my favorite rides and spend time with my favorite people. I'm the luckiest girl in the world. Oh, and p.s. For my birthday, Matthew gave me two good books, and a deep tissue massage at a local spa! I just got to go to the massage today, and it was my first real massage. It. was. glorious. I'm thinking I'm going to need more of those in the future.

Adam and his fiance, Kenzie. She's hardcore, as you can tell.

Hopefully I'll be blogging more often!
Tonight I'm off to see Footloose with the boyfriend!
What are your weekend plans?

The one about being a grown up.

9.17.2011

I really like coloring with crayons. You know what else I really like? SpongeBob-shaped Mac&Cheese, cutting my PB&J's in cookie-cutter shapes, sandboxes, and finger paint.

Why do I bring that up? Because some people can't handle that. Well guess what: alongside my 5 year-old love for life, I (mostly) financially provide for myself, pay bills, cook dinners, do well in school, and try my best to bolster forth with a positive attitude. Yeah, I act childish. I'm 19; not 61. I hate when people expect me to put on my pearls, cross my legs, and sip my tea Shirley Temples with my pinky in the air. (I'm also not British - har, har, har.) Life's too short to spend it acting like you're overwhelmed with responsibilities. We all have them.

Point being: I am me. Kalynn Petersen. Take it or leave it. Au revior.

p.s. I've asked for a trip to Disneyland for my birthday. Take that.

boo.

6.06.2011

Dear Disneyland Plans,
I'm sorry to say that I have to forget about you.
Because no matter how much I want to go through with you,
everyone else in the world wants to crush you.

chubbzz.

5.10.2011

Have any of you ever watched The Biggest Loser?
Ironically, I came downstairs to do a Jillian Michaels workour video, and my mom was watching it.
It's slightly inspirational.
And with the boyfriend going to intense workouts that make him want to throw up lately,
I want to get in better shape too!
Plus, my family is going to Bear Lake this summer.
for an entire week.
Some things about me just need to go. :)

I don't get to see the boyfriend as much as I'd like lately.
but he does make sure that I get to see him at least once a day.
Being grown ups sure has been different for us.
But it's worth it.
Because we can afford to go to Disneyland!
eventually.
so I am one happy camper.

oh! Camping sounds fun!
any takers?

This is getting out of control.

5.07.2011

I want to go to Disneyland. I HAVE to go.
I'm going to have to be patient though. I have to save my money for tuition,
and then I WILL go to Disneyland.
and I'm making the boyfriend come with me.
It probably won't be at least until the end of July, or even early August.
And I'll probably have to do the whole,
drive-up-Friday, Disneyland-on-Saturday, Drive-home-Sunday deal,
but I don't even care.
I have to go to that magical little land.
I have to ride the teacups.
and go on space mountain.
and Soarin' Over California
and Tower of Terror.
And Indiana Jones.
and the lame-but ever so fun, Star Wars ride.
And Splash Mountain.
And watch the parade!
and see the fireworks!
And hopefully see a prince or two!
{Not THAT important, since I'll be bringing mine with me. :) }
I wonder if they've got Rapunzel there yet...
Who knows!
But. It's all I can think about.
disneyland. disneyland. disneyland.

If anyone knows of way to get discounts on tickets, that'd be fabulous.
