IDK, my BFF Jill???

3.21.2016

This is Abby. You know her well; she's been seen around this blog since post numba 2. She's one of the best friends I've got in this world. (Can anybody pick just ONE best friend?!) What I love about our friendship is we've definitely had our ups and downs. (Remember THIS post? Haha, so dramatic, but seriously, those were hard times!) But that just makes it more real for me. I consider her to be more of a sister than just a friend.

Last Friday we got together for lunch, (at Cafe Rio, duh) and just after we sit down with our food, this lil' cutie hands me an envelope and says I should open it right then. DO YOU WANNA KNOW WHAT WAS INSIDE?!?!

That's right! She's pregnant!! I'm gonna be an aunt again!! I'm so excited, I could cry.
Abigail and Steven are going to be the best parents, and I can't wait to watch it all happen for them.

Today was a good day.

2.25.2016

I knew as soon as I walked out my front door this morning that it was going to be a good day. The good weather was an omen of that! It was a simple day, but it was a good day.

▲ I (re)learned that Betos is disgusting. My first experience with Betos was last Christmas Eve, and I hadn't eaten anything from there since. But when our office assistant was making a burrito run for everyone, I figured I'd get in on it. Yup, still gross. But it was just fun hanging out and eating burritos with everyone at work. My coworkers are seriously hilarious. Speaking of...

▲ My coworker Kate is allergic or something to Red Dye 40. Whenever she eats something with Red Dye 40 in it, she gets so funny. I think the same thing happens when she eats a Betos burrito, because she was just talking and singing to herself all morning. Haha she was just cracking me up! It made the morning work flow pass by really quickly.

▲ I went to visit my mom during my lunch break, and drove home with the windows down, listening to Frank Sinatra and Chicago. Could life get any better?

▲ Yes it can! My mom had leftover SLOPPY JOES!!! that I got to eat for lunch! Seriously, those are in my top 5 favorite foods. I can't get enough.

▲ I got to go to dinner with my really good friend Mike. (AND we went to Cafe Rio.) Mike's been one of my best friends for like 11 years now. I consider his family to be my family. I could go to his house when we were younger and just hang out with his mom if he wasn't home. I was always over there swimming in their pool, or going to their cabin. And Mike just always saw the best in me when other people didn't. Anyway, tonight at dinner when I asked, "How are things going?" He answered, "I can honestly say that life has never been better." And that was probably the best part of my day. I can't say enough about how big of a blessing Mike has been in my life, and isn't it the best when your friends are just so happy?! It just made my heart so happy.

And guess what else? It's Friday Eve! If that doesn't make you happy, I don't know what will.

Annnnd for your enjoyment....middle school photos with Mike. Haha!

Cheating isn't cool, guys.

boy and girl

For some reason, every time my brother Adam and I go some place together, the world thinks we are a couple. Adam came down to Cedar City today, and he took me out to lunch at Cafe Rio! Which was, as always, very delicious. After we were done eating, we walk out of the restaurant and Adam says "wait..I have to pee." So we walk back in and I wait by the door while he uses the little boys' room. As I'm patiently waiting by the door, a girl I recognize from a class, but don't know her name, walks up to me. Our conversation went a little bit like this:

Girl: I'm just voicing my opinion here, but cheating ISN'T cool.
Kalynn: ....huh?
Girl: I see you walking around campus every day holding hands with some cute guy, and now you're here with ANOTHER guy. I'm positive that your boyfriend would NOT appreciate this. It seriously IS NOT cool to cheat on nice guys.
Kalynn:....this guy is my brother....?...
Girl: oh...

yeah. lesson learned.

Is it wrong how excited I am for today?

1.27.2011

It's not a SUPER special day, but I am all smiles.
I get done with classes at noon,
which always happens on Tuesdays and Thursdays,
but it's even better today because
yesterday was a 5-classes-in-a-row day,
and a bunch of us are going to Cafe Rio for lunch.
I'm going to visit my sister, something I did less than a week ago,
but have the need to do again.
I have errands to run, and they are the fun kind.
I have yoga to do with Emily, one of the greatest kids you'll ever meet.
I have a meeting tonight; one with rad people.
There is a potential trip to my bed with a new book to read.
And a definite viewing of The Office with the boyfriend.
& I've already kicked today off with a good 30 minute scripture-reading session!
I love today.
Already.

Is there anything good going for YOU today?

--Kay.

It began with dinner at Cafe Rio.

12.02.2010

Which I really could not afford,
but I have a lot of quarters.
And then it was a trip to Sally's for some hair bleach
for Abby's little strip of blonde.
And then it was to Home Depot to see the
BIG. HUGE.
nightmare-before-christmas-esque-Santa-Clause
made entirely out of PVC pipe.
at which Depot we saw the cutest little baby Christmas Tree
for only $4.89.
which reminded me that I had little baby Christmas ornaments
in my car.
which led to an hour of paper snowflake making.
Which led to an hour of playing CHUG and picking up
little itsy bitsy pieces of paper.

And this I enter my last year of teenage-hood.

October 22, 1991.

The day I was born.
Can I just tell you that my 19th birthday was the greatest birthday ever?
it was.
Matt and I drove home on Thursday, so that I wouldn't have to drive for three hours on my own birthday. And when I got home Melissa, Lizzy, Sam, and my dear mother were all there making carameled apples! mmm! And then my generous mother wanted to take us to dinner! It wasn't even my birthday yet, but I got to choose!
Anyone who knows me knows what I chose.
Yep.

CAFE RIO.

Heaven. on. Earth.
Anyway. on to the actual birthday stuff!!

Friday. Happy birthday to me!! Matthew came and picked me up and took me to breakfast with a couple of our friends, MattFinn, Braden, and Jake.
We went to Kneaders because they have the best french toast on all the planet and it's only $5 bucks for all you can eat! So that was good. And then we all went to play pool at a bowling alley. Matt and I kicked Braden's and Jake's butt. Can I just tell you that we are pretty dang dece at pool?We are.
And then Matt hung out with me ALL day long. haha. He's so great.
and then I had a quick family party.
I LOVE my family. They're so great.
and that night my friends from Cedar came down!
Abby, Kelsey, Emily, and Scott.
we ate pizza and MUD PIE. and chatted until it was late. but not too late, because the next day we had plans to go to.....
LAGOON!!
but did you know it was pouring rain all day?
but we didn't care THAT much.

We still spent our entire day there and it was so much fun still!
Lines were short.
and Matt even took me on the
SKYCOASTER.

greatest.thing.ever.

When we were so cold that we just couldn't handle it any longer, we went to Emilies and showered and got in sweats and ate the delicious grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup her dear kind mother made for us.
Then we turned on "How to Train Your Dragon" which is SO adorable.

And then after a little guitar hero and super mario bros, we hit the sack.

I just...am so happy. with life. friends. family. everything. :)

Love, your no longer 18 years old friend,
KALYNN.

Dear Blah-g,

9.03.2010

I'm sorry that you have become BLAH since I have hardly taken any time to update you as of late.

What the story is,
is that I am loving college to the highest degree.

People were right, you know. SUU is a party school. but that doesn't mean that we don't get our work done! I swear we do. We just always get it done by 5, and THEN the partying gets done.

Let me tell you a little about my experience in the classroom first.

I actually love my classes. Well. Most of them. I'm taking Spanish 1! Did you know?? and I LOVE it. I have it Monday-Thursday. Right now we're learning how to tell time. I'm pretty good at learning languages, I think. Cause.. I feel like I'm learning really fast..and. anyway. It's fun. It's my favorite class. And then of course...I'm an English nerd..so I'm loving that too! Although, we haven't had the opportunity to write any papers yet. I'm getting excited for that though!

....

Okay. So those are the only two classes I really like. But the others are bearable.

What I really enjoy about college though, is that I have made so many new friends since being here! And we have so much fun every single day. I don't know how we do it..we just do. Take last night for example...We played the game Ultimate Uno (also known to some people as Mau) with ten people..and it was hilarous and intense and...haha. Some people were getting really upset. Like..Cody...he doesn't like to lose.

Other activities include: Going to Jeff Nye, the stand up comedian.

Me, Emily, Abby, and Kelsey
Kelsey, Cody, Trent

Having Cafe Rio Mondays

Going on silly string rampages..

I like being in college.
